Cup of Coffee - A Motivational Story about The Things That Are Really Important in Life

12:12 AM
Bismillaah

As Salaamu 'alaykum and Peace to all,

Cup Of Coffee

A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university lecturer. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the lecturer went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups:

porcelain, plastic, glass, some plain-looking and some expensive and
exquisite, telling them to help themselves to hot coffee.

When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the lecturer said: "If you noticed, all the nice-looking,expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones.

While it is but normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the better cups and are eyeing each other's cups." "Now, if Life is coffee, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, but the quality of Life doesn't change."

Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee in
it."

So don't let the cups drive you...enjoy the coffee instead.

As Muslims, we must know what is our cup of coffee. This is what we say everyday in our prayers. Do we really understand what we say to Allaah everytime we stand in our prayers?

This is what we say to Allaah evreytime after we make our first takbir.. (Wajjahtu Wajhiya liladzi...)

I have set my face towards the Originator of the heavens and the earth sincerely [in Islam] and I am not among the Mushrikeen. Indeed my prayer, my sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allaah, the Lord of the Worlds: no partner has He. With this I have been commanded, and I am the first of the Muslims (those who submit to Him). O Allaah! You are the King, none has the right to be worshipped but You, [You are the Most Perfect & all Praise is for You] You are my Lord and I am Your slave. I have wronged myself, and have acknowledged my sins, so forgive all my sins, for no-one forgives sins except You. Guide me to the best of characters, to which no- one can guide except You, and save me from the worst of characters, from which no-one can save except You. I am here and happy to serve you. All good is in your Hands, and evil is not from You. [The guided one is he who is guided by you.] I exist by your will and belong to You. [There is no escape or shelter from You except to You.] You are blessed and exalted. I seek Your forgiveness and repent to You.

Know what is important in life. Know our duties in this life. To Allaah, To Rasul, To Ummah, To Family, To everything that has a right over us.
